Even before Dad died, I would think, "This is the good stuff" at certain moments like cheering Kinsley on in swim meet or watching Madison perform in a play. After the trials of the last year and living through so many horribly difficult days with my parents, I have an even greater appreciation for the "good stuff" moments. There's nothing like walking through the fire to appreciate times of joy, beauty, or contentment.
So today, I give thanks for the good stuff. The hug of a friend I haven't seen for awhile, the laughter around the dinner table as we share about our days, Saturday mornings curled up on the couch with a good book and a cup of coffee...the moments that bring a smile and a realization that while life can be really, really hard sometimes it can also be really, really good.
